Privacy Policy

Overview

SignSteal is a daily baseball guessing game. We built it to be private by default. You do not create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location. This policy explains the small amount of data the app uses and why.

Information we collect

SignSteal collects only what it needs to run the game and to show the shared "percentage of players who solved today" statistic:

• An anonymous device identifier. The first time you open the app, it generates a random ID on your device. It is not tied to your name, your Apple ID, your email, or any other personal information, and it cannot be used to identify you.
• Daily game results. When you finish a daily puzzle, the app records that a game was completed — whether it was solved and in how many guesses — together with the anonymous device ID and the puzzle date. This is what powers the "X% of players solved it" stat.

That is the complete list. We do not collect contacts, photos, precise or coarse location, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity, and the app contains no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Information stored only on your device

Your win streak, game history, and settings (such as light/dark theme) are saved locally on your device using standard app storage. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us. Deleting the app removes it.

How your information is used

• To run the game and remember your progress and streak.
• To calculate and display aggregate, anonymous solve-rate statistics shared across all players.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Third-party services

• Supabase hosts the backend database that stores the anonymous game-result rows described above. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy practices.
• MLB Stats API (statsapi.mlb.com) provides public baseball data that the app reads to build its player list. The app only requests public data from this service; it does not send your information to it.

Children's privacy

SignSteal does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because no personal information is collected, the app does not build profiles of users of any age.

Data retention and your choices

Anonymous game-result rows are retained to keep historical solve-rate statistics accurate. Because the data is not linked to your identity, it cannot be looked up by name. If you would like the rows associated with your device removed, contact us at the email below and we will assist.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version at this address.
